Why 'Unknown'?Setting up for our grand opening in Marysville back in '06, we had a solid idea of what we wanted to accomplish with the shop, but we had no idea what to name it. We kept searching online for names. Most of them of weren't even real words, just crazy names we'd come up with. The search would return "there are no results for ____" or it would just say "word unkown". That's when it hit us - UNKNOWN.
Our HistoryFounders Graham Callan and Zack Garza met as young shredders in 1987, tearing up the local spots where they grew up in Marysville. They talked about one day opening up a shop of their own, selling their own designs to loyal customers who would grind their graphics down to the wood and come back for more. But that was just talk. Now almost 30 years later, Zack and Graham are living the dream. Along with local Bellingham artist and shredder Craig Boush, founders Graham and Zack make the majority of the art found in Unknown Skate Shop as well as the designs that get printed onto shop decks.

About UsUnknown Board Shop is a community based franchise that sells skateboards, longboards, and cool clothing. We're really all about providing the local community with the latest and greatest in shredder frippery -at an affordable price.
We are a collective of artistic souls with an unrelenting love for skating. We promote uninhibited creative freedom. Sharing our art with the community by putting it on display in our shop, printing it onto our t-shirts and sweaters, and designing it into our decks - that's what we do. We started up in January 2006 in Marysville, Washington as a modest skate shop with a mission to offer the best in skateboarding to our customers. We got a few speed wobbles along the way, but we stuck it out and kept riding. After closing up shop we relocated to Bellingham in 2012. Now we offer a wide selection of products, sponsor a local roller derby team, and pump out sick artwork and designs in our studio, located above the shop. We're super stoked to announce our grand re-opening in Marysville, this summer 2015. But we're not by any means about becoming some big corporate enterprise. Another shop for us is an opportunity to get more gear and more art to more skaters. For us it was never about the money. We're all about the people and the experience of skateboarding. Come peep our stuff, we'll set you up correct. |
